Wright State and Miami split a doubleheader Tuesday afternoon at the Miami Softball Stadium, with the Raiders taking the opener 3-1 before the RedHawks won the nightcap 5-1.

The Raiders opened the scoring in game one with a run in the first as after Louie Haney singled up the middle and Jherica Williams hit into a force play, Kristen Bradshaw's double to right center drove in Williams from first.

Miami answered with a run of its own in the bottom of the frame and it stayed tied until WSU went up for good with a run in the third on singles by Michelle Logan, Haney and Williams. Wright State then tacked on an insurance run in the fifth as Jamie Perkins walked, advanced to second on a Haney bunt and scored as Williams doubled to right center.

Sharon Palma (11-6) earned the win as the reigning Horizon League Pitcher of the Week gave up just four hits and two walks in a complete-game effort with seven strikeouts.

Williams led the way for the Raiders offensively with three hits while Haney and Bradshaw each had two.

It was the RedHawks that took the early lead in game two as Breanna Robinson hit a two-run home run in the first. WSU cut the deficit in half in the second on a RBI single from Haney, but Miami (17-19) followed with three more runs in the second to round out the scoring.

Williams went 0-for-3 in the second game, ending her hitting streak at 26 games. During the streak, the senior hit .605 (52 for 86) with 12 home runs, 59 RBI, 12 doubles, five triples and 36 runs scored. She also recorded a 1.279 slugging percentage, a .636 on-base percentage, 19 multi-hit games and 19 multi-RBI contests.

Wright State, now 21-18 on the season, returns to Horizon League play Thursday afternoon with a 3:00 doubleheader at Butler.
