The Wright State women's soccer team extended their winning streak to five games with a 2-1 victory over Ohio Dominican Friday at Alumni Field.
The Raiders would take the lead in the seventh minute thanks to a Jen Agueci goal. The junior would take control of the ball inside the penalty box, looping it over Panther goalkeeper Aimee Simonet's hands from 12 yards out.
WSU would strike again in the 37th minute as defender Trisha Stevens let loose a shot from 40 yards to find the back of the net for her first goal since the 2007 season.
The Panthers (5-3-2) got on the board in the 86th minute thanks in part to a well executed cross from Sierra Patterson. Megan Wharton collected the ball five yards out from goal, pushing it just past a diving Meghan Hackerson.
Wright State outshot ODU on the night 12-7. The Raiders also led in corners 9-4, including 5-1 in the first half.
Wright State (7-4-2) will look to extend its winning streak on Sunday when they hit the road to play Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia, at 1:00 PM. It will be the first-ever meeting of the two schools.
