
Volleyball Drops Second Straight Five-Set Heartbreaker at Loyola

For the second straight day, the Wright State volleyball team pushed a Horizon League opponent to the limit, but came up just short as the Loyola Ramblers defeated the Raiders 25-21, 23-25, 25-19, 21-25, 15-11 Saturday afternoon at Loyola's Alumni Gym in Chicago.
WSU was led by Jessica Woods and Becca Awaa each added 10 kills. Ashley Heyman hit .471 with nine kills while Michelle Hammond posted a double-double of 26 assists and 10 digs and Lexi Leonhard chipped in 21 digs.
The Raiders finished with one more kill (61-60) in the match, but the Ramblers (11-15, 4-9 Horizon) outhit WSU .245-.123 and had a 12-8 block advantage.
Wright State (10-18, 2-11 Horizon) is right back on the road next weekend, heading to the Badger State to take on Milwaukee on Friday, November 6, at 8:00 Eastern followed by Green Bay on Saturday, November 7, at 4:00 Dayton time.
