
Volleyball Defeats Green Bay in Five

The Wright State volleyball team recorded a five-set win over Green Bay in Horizon League action at the Kress Center Saturday afternoon, defeating the Phoenix 25-20, 19-25, 25-20, 23-25, 15-9.
The back and forth match took over two hours as both teams posted more than 60 kills and over 80 digs. WSU held the lead throughout the first set as Jessica Woods registered six kills and WSU hit .250 as a team. The second set saw Green Bay win despite the Raiders keeping it tight and trailing by one late 18-17 as the Phoenix outhit WSU .333 to .222.
Green Bay (9-18, 4-10 Horizon) had a slight 63-61 edge in kills, but WSU outhit the Phoenix .188-.184 and held a 13-6 advantage in blocks and 7-3 in service aces.
Sandifer led the way for the Raiders with a double-double of 18 kills and 10 digs while Woods posted a double-double as well with 15 kills and 18 digs. Michelle Hammond finished with 50 assists while Lexi Leonhard garnered a team-high 20 digs.
Wright State (11-19, 3-12 Horizon) returns to action on Wednesday, November 11, as the Raiders host crosstown rival Dayton for a 7:00 match.
