
Softball Drops Series Finale With Cleveland State

Wright State collected six hits off of Amanda Macenko, but could not dent the scoreboard as Cleveland State hit three home runs in winning the series finale 6-0 in Horizon League action at the WSU Softball Field Sunday afternoon.
Natalie DeMatteis reached on a fielder's choice as Amanda Houchin scored for CSU in the first and the Vikings extended the lead to 4-0 in the third as Houchin homered to left and Christina Stoffer hit a two-run shot to right center.
Cleveland State rounded out the scoring with two more in the sixth on a Lia Gordon two-run home run to left center.
Macenko (8-7) struck out six and did not walk a batter as she threw 86 total pitches, 70 of those for strikes.
Katie Kine paced the Raider offense with two hits.
Wright State (10-12, 1-2 Horizon) hosts Eastern Michigan Tuesday for a 2:00 doubleheader.
