The Wright State softball team scored first, but that turned out to be the only run of the day for the Raiders as Utah State broke a 1-1 tie with a run in the fifth and two more in the sixth for a 4-1 decision in the final game of the Aggie Invitational Sunday in College Station, Texas.
WSU tallied its run in the bottom of the first as Kristen Bradshaw walked, advanced to second on an error, stole third and came in on a Justine Shilt single up the middle.
The Raiders, though, managed just three more hits the rest of the way as Utah State tied it with a run in the third and went ahead for good with another in the fifth and two in the sixth.
After taking next week off for winter quarter exams, Wright State (6-15) opens the home portion of its schedule on Tuesday, March 23, with a 3:00 doubleheader against Ohio.
