Senior goalkeeper Meghan Hackerson became the career leader in shutouts and junior midfielder Brittany Persaud had a goal and two assists as the Wright State women's soccer team defeated Eastern Kentucky 3-0 on the road Friday night.
The Raiders opened the scoring just 2:17 into the contest as Amber Kasmer scored her first goal of the season in the bottom left corner off a Persaud pass. WSU made it 2-0 at the 18:56 mark of the first half as Persaud delivered a corner kick to Bekah Bonny, who converted it into her first goal of the year.
After assisting the first two goals, Persaud came up with a goal of her own, her second of the season, at the 71:33 mark of the second half, finding the bottom right corner of the goal off a pass from Morgan Butler.
Hackerson took it from there as she shutout the Colonels (1-4) in her first action of the season. The shutout was the 24th of her career, eclipsing the 23.5 by Steph Comisar from 2003-06. She also recorded two saves.
Wright State (2-2) concludes its trip through Kentucky on Sunday as the Raiders take on Morehead State for a 1:00 contest.
