
Swimming Sweeps Ashland

The Wright State swimming and diving teams swept Ashland on the road Saturday afternoon, the men winning 126-117 while the women defeated the Eagles 143-98.
First-place finishers on the men's side were Pawel Grzebala in the 1000 free (10:06.99) and 500 free (4:46.25), Hermanus Botha in the 200 free (1:42.11) and 100 free (45.96), Corey Johnson in three meter diving (249.83) and Caleb Nettleton in one meter diving (311.25). The 200 free relay team of Botha, Adam Carnell, Grzebala and Scott Bey also placed first (1:25.91).
For the women, Justyna Hampel won the 1000 free (10:44.46) and 500 free (5:18.03) while Molley Pipkorn was victorious in the 200 free (1:56.09) and 100 free (52.74), Krystyna Wieczerzak in the 200 IM (2:10.08), Neena Zwier in one meter (245.62) and three meter (274.05) diving and Rasa Zilinskaite in the 100 fly (57.39). The 200 free relay team of Melissa Woody, Kelli Reynolds, Erin Stevning and Pipkorn also finished first (1:38.36).
Wright State returns to action on Saturday, January 22, with a 1:00 meet at Cleveland State, with the Raider women also taking on Youngstown State.
