A Brittany Persaud goal midway through the first half proved to be the difference as the women's soccer team won 1-0 at Green Bay Sunday.
Persaud's game-winner came at the 18:16 mark as her free kick from just outside the box beat the Phoenix goalkeeper in the left side of the net. It was the fourth goal of the year for the senior forward.
Brooke McCurdy recorded the shutout, her fourth of the season, as the sophomore goalkeeper tallied four saves.
The win was the 150th in Pat Ferguson's 15-year coaching career, with 74 of those coming at WSU.
Wright State (6-6-2, 1-2-1 Horizon) hosts Loyola on Saturday, October 15, at 7:00. It will be Senior Night and the nine Raider seniors--Jen Agueci, Bekah Bonny, Katie Broerman, Morgan Butler, Cassie Gross, Adrianna Guerrero, I'esha King, Sara Palermo and Persaud--will be honored before the contest.
