
Volleyball Wins at Green Bay

The volleyball team closed out a successful final road trip of the regular season Saturday afternoon with a four-set win at Green Bay. The Raiders won the match 28-26, 24-26, 25-23, 25-21.
The opening set was tied 13 times, including at five straight points until WSU claimed the set on a Phoenix service error and attack error. Green Bay, though, turned the tables in the second set, winning it on a Raider service error and a Leah Van Zeeland kill.
Wright State took the lead for good at 22-20 in the third set on kills from Anna Norman and Dani Branco and closed it out with another Branco kill and two from Ashley Langjahr. Alaina McAuley then gave WSU a 22-20 lead in the final set with a kill and the Raiders later took advantage of three Phoenix attack error to wrap up the match.
Green Bay finished with a 61-58 edge in kills, but the Raiders outhit the Phoenix .234-.178.
Langjahr paced WSU with 17 kills while McAuley had 14 in hitting .394 for the match. Heidi Splinter posted a double-double of 10 kills and 15 digs while Aimee Schubert had one as well of 50 assists and 12 digs. Jessica Levy chipped in 30 digs.
Wright State (6-22, 5-10 Horizon) wraps up the regular season on Friday, November 11, with a 7:00 home match against Butler at the C.J. McLin Gymnasium. The two Raider seniors--Katherine Godina and McAuley--will be recognized before the match.
