
Lloyd Named Horizon League Indoor Track Co-Athlete of the Year

For the second straight season, junior Cassandra Lloyd has been named as the Horizon League Indoor Track Co-Athlete of the Year, it was announced Wednesday by the league office.
With her second straight share of the Athlete of the Year award, Lloyd (Springfield, OH/South) becomes the third female in league history to take home at least two of the honors in her career. This season, Lloyd captured her third consecutive title in the 60 meter hurdles, winning the event in 8.42 seconds.
By the end of the indoor season, Lloyd was ranked No. 23 nationally in the 60 meter hurdles and set the WSU record in the event with a time of 8.27 at the Alex Wilson Invitational in South Bend, Indiana, on March 5. She also set a new school record in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.66 at the league meet on February 26 and was part of the record-setting 4x200 meter relay team.
Horizon League Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Year are voted on by the conference's eight head coaches and have been named each year since 2003.
