More than 150 kids joined the men's soccer team and coaches yesterday at Alumni Field for what turned out to be a fantastic night. The clinic, which filled up more than a week before, had a long wait list and it was clear by the turnout and enthusiasm of the players why the response was so great.

"The turnout was incredible. Our staff and players really fed off the excitement and effort of all of the players that turned out," said Head Coach Bryan Davis. "This was a great night for Wright State and our Men's Soccer Program."

The event featured a number of giveaways and skills competitions. Participants had the opportunity to be split into smaller training groups and learn firsthand from the Wright State players and coaches. Training focused on technical skills as related to both dribbling and passing, and finished with an opportunity to put these skills to use in a small sided game. At the end players had an opportunity to sign autographs and purchase Wright State gear.

This event was a great way to cap off a successful spring for the Wright State team, who continued to show improvement and had some very good results against National Champion Akron, national power Ohio State, and the local USL pro team Dayton Dutch Lions.

"We are extremely proud of the effort of our players this spring and tonight was a chance for them to have fun and make a positive impact on the families in our community" said Davis. "We will continue to hold events like these in the future and look forward to welcoming these families back to upcoming camps, clinics, games and other Wright State soccer events."
