Down 2-1 early in the second half, the Wright State women's soccer team scored twice in the final 25 minutes to pull out a 3-2 win over Tennessee-Martin Sunday at the RedHawk Shootout Soccer Tournament in Oxford, Ohio.
Bekah Bonny opened the scoring at the 7:46 mark of the first half as she recorded her first goal of the season. Jen Agueci and Brittany Persaud each provided the assist, the first for Agueci and fourth for Persaud, as they helped deliver a low cross from the right side of the box to Bonny for the easy putaway.
The Skyhawks, however, tied it at the 29:07 mark and then went in front 2-1 with another goal at the 48:26 mark of the second half.
Bonny, though, struck again as she tied the contest at the 65:47 mark. Brittany Persaud had the assist, her fifth of the season, as she passed a long ball to Bonny, who dribbled around the goalkeeper for the goal.
The Bonny-Persaud duo reversed roles for the game-winner with 7:19 remaining as Bonny fed Persaud from just outside of the box. It was the second goal of the year for Persaud and the first assist for Bonny.
The Raiders outshot Tennessee-Martin (5-3) 17-10, including 8-4 in shots on goal.
Wright State (4-3-1) returns home for a 5:00 match against Western Michigan on Friday, September 16.
