Women's Soccer Ties Youngstown State

The Wright State women's soccer team tied Youngstown State 1-1 in the Horizon League opener for both teams Sunday afternoon at Alumni Field.
The Raiders opened the scoring at the 29:51 mark of the first half as Liz Soto delivered a pass from the right side to Bekah Bonny, who knocked it in for her fourth goal of the season, all coming in the last three matches. It was Soto's first assist of the year.
Youngstown State (3-5-2, 0-0-1 Horizon), however, answered just 1:21 later as Geneva Strelka recorded her second goal of the season off a corner kick from Jade Flory, her third assist of the year.
WSU outshot the Penguins 21-7 for the contest and had an 8-2 edge in corner kicks, but could not convert as YSU goalkeeper Ali Viola posted eight saves.
Wright State (5-3-2, 0-0-1 Horizon) visits Butler Saturday at 7:30.
