The Wright State men's soccer team rallied from a 2-0 deficit with a pair of goals in the final 10 minutes of regulation, only to see UIC score the game-winner in the second overtime to pull out a 3-2 Horizon League decision Saturday night in Chicago.
The Flames appeared to be in control for most of the match, tallying a goal at the 34:57 mark of the first half and another at the 59:03 mark of the second half to go up 2-0.
WSU, however, tied the contest with a pair of goals in a three-minute span. Sophomore forward Brett Elder started the comeback at the 83:59 mark with his sixth goal of the season, a shot off of a corner kick by freshman forward Eric Lynch.
Junior midfielder Emeka Ononye then tied it just 2:50 later at the 86:49 mark as he, like Elder, converted a corner kick from Lynch. It was the first goal of the year for Ononye and the two assists give Lynch six on the season.
UIC (11-3, 4-0 Horizon), though, came up with the game-winning goal at the 104:40 mark in the second overtime to maintain its perfect mark in league play.
The Flames outshot the Raiders 15-10 and led 8-5 in shots on goal.
Wright State (3-7-1, 1-3 Horizon) hosts Bowling Green on Tuesday, October 22, at 7:00.
