The Wright State volleyball team dropped a three-set decision to Horizon League leader Milwaukee Friday night at the C.J. McLin Gymnasium. The Panthers won the match 25-17, 25-19, 25-21.
WSU only trailed 15-12 following an Ashley Langjahr kill in the first set before Milwaukee scored five of the next six points to take control. The Raiders again hung close in the second set, down just 17-16 and 20-18 until the Panthers tallied five of the final six points.
A Milwaukee service error drew Wright State to within one at 15-14 in the final set, only to see the Panthers score four straight, including two Rachel Neuberger kills. A block from Langjahr and Heidi Splinter cut the deficit to 23-20, but WSU could get no closer.
Milwaukee (12-8, 8-0 Horizon) finished with a 47-28 kill advantage in outhitting the Raiders .301-.137.
Senf led the Raiders with eight kills while hitting .316 for the match, while Miranda Puthoff had 21 assists and seven digs. Katie Glassmeyer added 11 digs and six assists.
Wright State (6-20, 0-8 Horizon) hosts Green Bay Saturday at 4:00.
