The Wright State men's soccer team was able to answer an early Cleveland State goal with one of their own, only to see the Vikings tally the game-winner in the second half for a 2-1 decision in the first round of the Horizon League Tournament Tuesday night at Krenzler Field.
CSU opened the scoring at the 7:07 mark before the Raiders tied it just seven minutes later as freshman defender Jacob Stovall recorded his second goal of the season as he connected on a header from eight yards out. Freshman forward Eric Lynch was credited with his eighth assist of the year.
Cleveland State, however, came up with the game-winner at the 60:16 mark of the second half and held on from there for the victory. The Vikings outshot WSU 15-5 and led 6-4 in corner kicks.
Feshman goalkeeper Tyler Blackmer had five saves for Wright State, which closes out the season with a final mark of 6-10-2.
