Mark Hughes, a 6-3 guard at Ursuline High School in Youngstown, Ohio, has signed a letter of intent to attend Wright State and play basketball for the Raiders next fall, WSU head coach Billy Donlon announced Thursday.
"We are looking forward to Mark joining the Wright State family,” Donlon said. “He plays for a great high school coach in Keith Gunther. Mark plays multiple positions on the floor but his IQ for the game is that of a point guard. He comes from a winning tradition at Ursuline and I want to thank my staff for their efforts in his recruitment."
Hughes was an All-State Honorable Mention player as a junior as well as First-Team Inland District as he led his team to the regional finals. Last year, he averaged 17 points, seven rebounds and six assists.
The Raiders have won a record-tying 44 games over the past two seasons and open the 2014-15 campaign Friday night by hosting Belmont at 7 pm.
