Track Second After Opening Day of HL Championships

The Wright State track team is second after Saturday's opening day of the Horizon League Championships in Youngstown.
Sarah-Ann Blount finished first in the pentathlon, including wins in the 60 hurdles and high jump, where she set a school and league record (1.62m). She was also second in the shot put and long jump.
Brittany Jones took second place in the pentathlon with a first-place victory in the 800 run and second place finish in the high jump and 60 hurdles.
Courtney Ballard placed third in the pole vault while Jones was sixth in the long jump and Maria Harrison sixth in the weight throw.
The distance medley relay team of Jessica Doepker, Katasha Griffiths, Laura Benton and Alexandra Brown set a school record (12:43.57).
The meet concludes on Sunday.
