The track team recorded its highest finish ever at the Horizon League Outdoor Championships as the Raiders placed third Sunday in Youngstown.
Sarah-Ann Blount had the lone first-place finish of the day for the Raiders, winning the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.54 while Kacia Grant was second in both the 100 meter (11.92) and 200 meter dashes (24.68). The 4x100 meter relay team of Blount, Grant, Brandy Daniels and Savanna Termuhlen placed second while the 4x400 meter relay team of Grant, Kaley Moss, Termuhlen and Brittany Jones was fourth.
The third-place finish for WSU was the highest-ever in program history after placing fourth each of the past four years.
Following the meet, senior Kylie Kopp received the league's Most Outstanding Female Field Performer Award. Kopp won the heptathlon competition on Saturday, including a first-place finish in the high jump, and placed second in the long jump and eighth in the javelin throw.
