Wright State Victorious at Detroit Mercy 80-73
The Wright State men's basketball team stayed perfect in Horizon League play at 3-0 with its fourth straight win overall Friday night at Detroit Mercy 80-73. Senior Grant Benzinger scored 18 of his 23 points on five threes in the first half as freshman Loudon Love continued his solid play as he registered his fifth double-double of the year with 13 points and 14 rebounds. First-time starter Cole Gentry finished with 14 points, and Justin Mitchell pitched in 12 points.
Wright State, now 11-5 and 3-0, has won 11 of the last 13 games. It is WSU's best league start since 2012-13 season when they started 4-0.
