The Wright State women's soccer team (3-6-2, 2-1-1 Horizon) will return to action on Saturday, when the UIC Flames head to Alumni Field during the Wright State Homecoming.
Raider Round-Up
After dropping their first Horizon League contest of the season last Saturday, the Raiders look to get back to their winning ways this Saturday when the UIC Flames come to town. The Raiders traveled to Milwaukee last Saturday to face the top-ranked Panthers and lost a nail-biter 3-2. The Raiders continue to be led offensively by Aaliyah Patten (2 goals, 3 assists), but Destiny Johnson (2 goals) has emerged as a major threat for the green and gold. Maddie Jewell continues to shine in net for Wright State, posting a .667 save percentage and making 44 saves.
Scouting UIC
The Flames (2-11-1, 1-3-0 Horizon) come to Alumni Field on Saturday in search of some type of rhythm, winless in their last four matches (0-3-1). The Flames are a team who both struggles to find the back of the net (10 goals in 14 matches), and struggles to keep their opponents off the scoreboard (37 goals allowed). Freshman forward Emily Kavanaugh is the engine for UIC's offense, scoring three goals on 22 shots. Haley Leanna has split time in the net with Tara Khayam, but Leanna owns the better record (2-5), save percentage (.789), and goals against average (1.49).
Coverage
Saturday's 3:00 pm match is a part of Wright State's annual homecoming celebration, so Raiders fans are encouraged to come enjoy the festivities and pack Alumni Field to support both the men's and women's soccer teams. The match will also be streamed live on ESPN+.
