
Nix Named Special Assistant to AD

McKenzie Nix has been named the Special Assistant to the Athletics Director, Wright State Director of Athletics Bob Grant announced today.
After an early career in the United States Air Force in various medical areas, Nix played soccer for two seasons at Oregon State as a defender. With the Beavers, she represented the University at Women's Leadership Events, volunteered at the local Veterans Administration while being named to the Pac-12 All-Academic team and the team Most Improved Player in 2016.
At WSU, she will oversee the day to day activities of the Athletics Directors' office as well the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), personnel actions and liaison to several University and Horizon League committees.
While in the Air Force, the Corvallis, OR native worked as a medic instructor for four years as well as a volunteer coach for the soccer program and a surgery technician at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. She also worked in off-base hospitals, treating servicemen and servicewomen from the Vietnam- and Korean-war eras, and their dependents.
She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from OSU and Master of Professional Studies in Sports Management at Georgetown University. Nix and her husband, Gabriel, were married in June, 2017 and have a 10-month-old daughter, Willow.
