@WSU_MBB Welcomes Green Bay for Military Appreciation Night

The Wright State men's basketball team stays home to host Green Bay Saturday night for Military Appreciation Night.  Game time is 7:00 PM.  Fans can watch on EPSN3 and listen to Big 106.5 FM/iHeart Radio with Chris Collins and Jim Brown.

Wright State
The Raiders, 11-10 and 5-3, will look to increase its current and season-best three-game winning streak.  WSU is coming off a 56-54 win Thursday night as Loudon Love collected his eighth double-double of the season with 21 points and 12 rebounds.  Skyelar Potter came off the bench to post 10 points and six boards.  Knotted at halftime 25-25, the close game featured eight ties and four lead changes as the Raiders thwarted a Panther chance to tie or win the game in the last seconds.

Love has scored double figures in the last seven games, including 23 and 21 in the most recent two contests.  He has increased his free throw proficiency compared to the first part of the season. In the first nine games, he shot just 39% (12-31) but has improved to 75% (36-48) over the last 11 games.  The 6-9 sophomore has averaged 16.0 points during the eight league games along with 8.0 rebounds.  Overall, he now leads the Raiders at 14.8 points per game with Bill Wampler close behind at 14.4.  Cole Gentry, who has hit 35 straight free throws, carries a 13.2 average.

The Phoenix hold a narrow 31-29 lead in the overall series with the Raiders.  WSU has won four straight meetings, including last year's Horizon League Tournament first-round game in Detroit.  Green Bay's last win at WSU came in 2015.  The Raiders will play in Green Bay Feb. 28.

Green Bay
The Phoenix, 10-11 and 4-4, are coming off an 87-65 loss at Northern Kentucky Thursday night.  Green Bay has lost four of its last five games after starting league play at 3-0.  Sandy Cohen III, who had a team-best 19 points at NKU, leads the team overall with a 17.3 points per game average and 6.5 rebounds.  JayQuan McCloud boasts an average of 14.7 overall, but 17.0 in Horizon League contests.

UWGB was tabbed to finish fifth overall in the preseason Horizon League poll with Cohen chosen to the first team.  Kameron Hankerson, who averages 9.8 points, was selected to the preseason second team.
