Raider women second, men fourth at Wilmington Invite

The Wright State cross country teams each turned in strong races on Friday afternoon, as the women finished second overall and the men finished fourth at the Wilmington College Invite. Individually, Shelby Nolan finished second in the women's 5K race as three Raider women placed inside the top 10 and Nathan Dunn placed second in the men's 8K race as two Raider men earned top 10 finishes.

Nolan paced the Wright State women with her time of 17:34.9, just off the pace of Julia Rizk of Ohio State. Ohio State won both the individual and women's team championships, finishing five points better than the Raiders in the final team totals. Molly Kearns' time of 18:34.2 gave her a fifth-place finish, while Abigail Halsey rounded out the Raiders in the top 10 with an eighth place showing (18:45.6). Lauren Shuman (11th, 18:51.2) and Victoria Angelopoulos (20th, 19:16.4) capped the Raiders' team scoring, while Megan King (29th, 19:29.3) and Tiffany Ward (47th, 20:08.6) also competed.

The Raider men were one of three teams to place multiple runners in the top 10, led by Dunn's time of 24:55.5 on the way to the second-place finish. Max Pettit's time of 25:36.6 gave him a ninth-place finish. Jacob Poling (25th, 26:12.9), Michael Board (60th, 27:22.5) and Wyatt Stahl (65th, 27:32.4) rounded out the team scoring, while Benjamin Bowers (87th, 27:58.2) and Ethan Emmert (107th, 28:21.4) also competed for Wright State.

Wright State will run next Friday afternoon, October 18, at the Bradley Classic in its last tune-up before the Horizon League Championships on November 2.
