
Raider trio honored with Horizon League Awards

A trio of Wright State men's soccer players were honored for their play this season as the 2019 Horizon League Men's Soccer Awards were announced on Monday morning.

Senior Deri Corfe was named a First Team All-Conference performer, while fellow seniors Jackson Dietrich and Stefan Rokvic were each named Second Team All-Conference.

The three players helped lead the Raiders to a 8-8-2 regular season mark this season with a 4-4-0 Horizon League record, earning the No. 5 seed in the Horizon League Championship, which kicks off on Monday afternoon as Wright State travels to fourth-seeded Green Bay on ESPN+.

Corfe has appeared in 17 matches this season with 16 starts, recording a team-high 26 points off of 10 goals and six assists. His 10 goals are the second-most in the Horizon League this season, while he is sixth in the league in the assist category. On the year, Corfe has recorded 86 shots, which also leads Wright State and the Horizon League. Dietrich has started and played in 15 matches this fall, tallying 18 points on six goals and six assists. His six assists are two back of the HL leaders. Rokvic has played in 17 matches with 16 starts, recording 18 points on eight goals and a pair of assists. His eight goals are tied for the fifth-most in the league this season.

Around the league, UIC senior midfielder Jesus Perez was named the Horizon League Men's Soccer Player of the Year for the second year in a row, while teammates Bar Hazut earned Offensive Player of the Year, Jacob Graiber was named Defensive Player of the Year and Roberto Alonzo took home Freshman of the Year as voted upon by the League's nine head coaches. In addition, Sullivan Lauderdale of Oakland was named Goalkeeper of the Year and Coach of the Year went to UIC's Sean Phillips.
