In their third match of the weekend the Wright State women's tennis team fell to the Western Michigan Broncos on Sunday morning by a score of 5-2. With the loss, the Raiders drop to 3-5 on the season.Â
In doubles competition, the Raiders were able to take the first point of the matchup with their two wins. After losing their first two matches of the weekend, Haily Morgan and Madison Riley got back on track against Katja Fevralev and Kristina Tiraspolsky. Morgan and Riley moved to 6-2 on the season with the pair's win against the Broncos. Third pairing Andreea Craciun and Jillian Milano secured the doubles point for the Raiders with their 6-2 victory against Denise Azcui and Gabriela Slavova.Â
On the singles track, Jillian Milano brought home the sole singles win against the Broncos. After dropping her first set, Milano was able to rally against Kristina Tiraspolsky with wins in the second and the third by scores of 6-3 and 6-1. The win moves Milano to 5-3 in singles play on the season.Â
Up Next
The Raiders will return home next Saturday for a doubleheader against two in-state teams. At 11:00 AM the Raiders will face off against Bowling Green and will return to the courts at 7:00 PM to play Xavier.Â
