Milano's to Host Watch Party Thursday

The first place Wright State men's basketball team will travel to Green Bay for a Thursday night game with the Phoenix at 8:00 PM eastern, pitting the Horizon League's best offense against the League's best defense.  The Phoenix have averaged 81.6 points while the Raiders have held its opponents to just 68.0 points.  Fans can tune in to hear Chris Collins and Jim Brown on Big 106.5 FM/iHeart App or watch on ESPN+.

Wright State
The Raiders, 18-11 and 12-4, head into the final week of the regular season in first place by a game over Northern Kentucky.  NKU (21-8, 11-5) will play at Milwaukee Thursday and at Green Bay Saturday.  Wright State has won a season-high six straight and 10 of its last 11 games.  WSU won its most recent game 82-54 over Youngstown State Saturday night, marking the fourth consecutive contest of 81 or more points. 

During that stretch, the Raiders have averaged 83.3 points while holding the opponents to just 63.0 points.  The team has shot 51.3 % and 45% from three, holding their opponents to 43.2% overall.  Love has averaged 19.0 points while shooting 58% from the field with two games over 20 points.  The WSU defense has forced an average of nearly 15 turnovers while giving up 10.1 over the last four contests.

Against YSU, one of the league's hottest teams coming into the game, Loudon Love collected his career-best 26 points while Youngstown native Mark Hughes hit four threes for 14 points.  Cole Gentry ended with 12 points as the Raiders shot 49% overall and 58% in the first half with just seven turnovers.  Freshman Malachi Smith saw 28 minutes of action, finishing with a game-high seven rebounds and seven assists.  The Penguins scored first, but the Raiders took over and led the rest of the game.

Love holds the team lead in scoring at 15.5 now with Bill Wampler close at 14.7 points per game.  Gentry is at 12.3.  Within the Horizon League, Love is 10th in scoring and third in rebounding at 8.1 per game.  Gentry still sits atop the conference in free throw percentage at 90.4% (fifth nationally) and assist/turnover ratio at 2.6 as well as eighth in assists at 3.4.  The Raider defense now ranks 88th nationally.

The Raiders trail the overall series 31-30 and have won the last five meetings, including 87-75 at the Nutter Center on January 26.  Wampler had 21 points while Love finished with 18.

Green Bay
The Phoenix, 15-14 and 9-7, have won three of the last four games, falling at IUPUI 79-68 Sunday afternoon.  ShanQuan Hemphill had 18 points while Sandy Cohen III pitched in 16 points and eight rebounds.  Green Bay led by two at half 37-35 but were outscored 44-31 in the second half as they shot 37% from the field.  The Jaguars dominated the boards 45-26.

Cohen sits on top of the Horizon League's most potent offense at 16.7 points per game and 6.4 rebounds, good for seventh and eighth in the League.  JayQuan McCloud has started 17 games with an average 13.8 points, and Hemphill is at 11.7 points and 5.4 rebounds.  UWGB averages 81.6 points as a team, giving up 80.6 points.

Milano's Restaurant in Beavercreek will be site for the official Raider Watch Party Thursday night along with Dayton Hoopla.  There will be giveaways and Raiders fans will get a 25% off their food orders.

Next Up
The Raiders will play at Milwaukee Saturday at 7:00 PM eastern.  The Panthers are currently 9-20, 4-12 and host Northern Kentucky Thursday night.  WSU defeated UWM at the Nutter Center 56-54 in January.

Motor City Madness Quarterfinal Tickets
The men and the women will host a home quarterfinal game on Tuesday, March 5.  The women will play first at 5:30, followed by the men at 8:00.  Doors will open at 4:30.  Tickets, which will include both games, are $10 for Premium seats (first 12 rows) and $5 for all other seat locations. Coaches Shows at Flyboys
The Wright State men's and women's Coaches Shows will return March 4 at Flyboys Deli in the Fairfield Mall forthe final shows of the year.  Men's head coach Scott Nagy will be on at 6 pm.  Women's coach Katrina Merriweather will be on at 5:30 pm.  Fans can come by for delicious food or tune in WONE, 980 AM or use the iHeart App.  It will also be streamed live through wsuraiders.com.
