The Wright State men's tennis team fell to the Northern Kentucky Norse 2-5 in the first Horizon League game of the season. The loss moves the Raiders to 7-12 on the season and begins their conference slate 0-1.

The Norse gained an early lead over the Raiders after winning the doubles point. On court one Param Pun and Lorenzo Maccarini fell to Blaine Carr and Nathan Schwartz by a close 7-5 score. The Norse secured the double point from Aleksander Sadal and Anthony Bosch taking down Theo Bourghelle and Javier Alvarez de la Villa 6-4 on court two.

Moving to the singles courts, the Raiders were able to get a point from Param Pun on Court One. After taking down Sadal 6-3 in the first set, Pun and Sadal needed extra games to end the match with Pun coming out on top. Donovan Cellupica-Towers would pull out a win in three sets but it would be too little for the Raiders as the Norse had gone 4-2 in single matches to secure the win.

Wright State will return home next weekend for the second and third conference matches of the season when they host IUPUI on Saturday and UIC on Sunday at the South Regency Tennis & Fitness Center.
