Wright State overcame the frigid temperatures and snow in a 7-2 win to claim their first Horizon League series victory.
1st Inning
Kayla Schwebke rolled through the Wright State lineup in game one, throwing a one-run complete game. In the rubber match, the Raiders tagged Schwebke with three runs in the opening inning. Rebekah Lenos and Brianna Hutchinson reached base and ended up on the corners. Then, Madison Whitaker executed a sac fly scoring Lenos. Madison Nunez drew a walk and Wright State once again threatened with two runners on base. A Green Bay error allowed Raidyn Johnson to reach first and Brianna Hutchinson to score. Lauren Deitrick connected on an RBI single to score the third run of the inning.
3rd Inning
Olivia Otani pieced together two shutout innings to start the game including a key double play in the second. Green Bay finally posted a run against Otani in the third to cut the Raider lead to two. Otani exited after the third but claimed her sixth win of the season while allowing just two hits and a run.
6th Inning
The two teams traded runs in the fifth and Wright State put the finishing touches on the victory with a three-spot in the sixth. Madison Hartman wore a pitch to lead off the inning and Rebekah Lenos reached on an error. Meredith Keel singled and chaos ensued after yet another Phoenix defensive mishap. Keel, Hartman, and Lenos all scored on the play to give Wright State a 7-2 advantage. Lexie Hilling entered and wrapped up the win in the circle with a perfect frame in the seventh.
