Wright State (20-27, 7-11) earned their second Horizon League series victory of the week with a win in the opening game of a doubleheader from WSU Softball Field.
The Raiders held off a valiant comeback attempt by the Grizzlies in game one to win 9-8 and fell in the series finale 10-2. Makenna Durieux picked up her second save of the season, and Raidyn Johnson added her second home run of the series in the Raider victory.

1st Inning
Wright State quickly answered the run put up by the Grizzlies in the first inning. Rebekah Lenos took two strikes and singled out to center. Lenos swiped second, took third after a passed ball, and darted home on a wild pitch to score the first Raider run of the day.

2nd Inning
The two teams traded a single run once more in the second inning. Raidyn Johnson slugged a home run to right, her second in as many games and the Raiders forced an early pitching change from Oakland.

4th Inning
Oakland took yet another one-run lead and it was erased in the bottom half of the frame once more by Wright State. Madison Hartman recorded a leadoff double and Raidyn Johnson added her second RBI of the game with a single to right. Johnson scored after Lauren Deitrick connected for an RBI double and the Raiders held a 4-3 lead.

5th Inning
The Grizzlies took advantage of two Wright State errors in the inning and claimed three runs and a 6-4 lead. The Raiders answered with a big five-run fifth and never looked back. Three straight singles by Madison Whitaker, Brianna Hutchinson, and Madison Hartman plated a run, and Oakland intentionally walked Johnson to load the bases with one out. Madison Nunez made Oakland pay with a single to left that scored two and Meredith Keel followed with an RBI and the fifth hit of the inning. Madison Nunez crossed the plate for the final run of the inning on a wild pitch.

7th Inning
Oakland pulled within just one run and threatened to take the lead in the late stages of the game with runners on second and third with just one out. Makenna Durieux battled back and recorded two big strikeouts to clinch the victory for the Raiders, their fourth straight win.

Oakland tallied ten runs on 12 hits to avoid the sweep against Wright State. The Raiders recorded eight hits but stranded eight, falling to the Grizzlies 10-2. Despite the loss, Brianna Hutchinson hit 3 for 4 with an RBI.

Wright State scored the first run in the opening inning after Meredith Keel doubled and Brianna Hutchinson scored Keel with an RBI single. Macy McCall added the other run with a double in the second.

The Raiders will face Bowling Green on Tuesday for a doubleheader before matching up with Cleveland State on the road next weekend.
