Wright State volleyball sophomore Lainey Stephenson has been named the Horizon League's Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday afternoon.
Stephenson helped lead the Raiders to a second consecutive 3-0 weekend at the Wright State Invitational, dishing out 112 assists this weekend (10.18 assists per set) and tallying 15 kills for at a .234 hitting percentage. Stephenson is the only setter in the league found on the Horizon League leaderboards in the hitting percentage category. She has proven herself a threat at the net, amassing 43 kills and her .288 hitting percentage is sixth in the league. The sophomore is currently second on the Horizon League leaderboard for assists (322 total 9.76 assists per set) through three weeks of play.
Stephenson's recognition continues an impressive run by the Raiders in the league's weekly honors. Junior Teddie Sauer was named the Horizon League's Offensive Player of the Week on September 3 after the opening week of games, while sophomore Jenna Story garnered back-to-back Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week accolades on September 3 and September 9.
Wright State hits the road this weekend for its final non-conference and tournament matchups of the season at the Ball State Tournament.Â
