Fifth annual Raider Tip-Off Premiere set for Oct. 12
9/27/2019 3:30:00 PM | General, Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball, Giving
The fifth annual Raider Tip-Off Premiere will be held on Saturday, October 12, signaling the start of the 2019-2020 campaigns while also serving as a celebration of the Wright State men's and women's basketball teams historic seasons last year. Head coaches Scott Nagy and Katrina Merriweather will introduce their Raider programs and look ahead to this season's schedules, and will also  share their thoughts on the state of college basketball nationally and in the Horizon League.
Â
The Tip-Off Premiere, held on the main arena floor inside the Nutter Center, will include a VIP reception, silent auction and dinner. The Premiere benefits the Raider Athletic Fund, which helps provide our 250 student-athletes the support needed to succeed in the classroom and on the field of play.
Â
Scott Nagy claimed his second consecutive Coach of the Year honor last season for the Wright State men, while Loudon Love was named to the All-Horizon League First Team and Bill Wampler was a second team selection for a Raider team that won 21 games last year and played in the postseason for the second consecutive season as they made their first trip to the NIT. Nagy begins his 25th season as a head coach and his fourth season at Wright State this fall.
Â
Katrina Merriweather claimed Horizon League Coach of the Year honors for the second time in three seasons as the Raider women won a program-record 27 games last season, along with the Horizon League regular season and tournament titles, to advance to the second NCAA Tournament appearance in team history. Merriweather is entering her fourth season as a head coach, all coming on the Wright State sideline.
Â
Doors to the main floor of the arena will open at 6 p.m., with dinner and the evening program beginning at 7 p.m. Individual VIP tickets are $115 and general admission tickets are $70. Pricing for whole tables (8 seats) starts at $500. Tickets can be purchased by clicking here, or by calling Gary Dillabaugh at (937) 775-4936.
