DAYTON, Ohio – Wright State University Athletics has launched the Rising Raiders Program, a new initiative designed to make Division I college athletics more accessible to young athletes throughout the Dayton region by removing the cost of admission to eligible regular-season home events.
Through Rising Raiders, children in grades K–12 can receive free admission to eligible Wright State Athletics regular-season home events by wearing their school or club team apparel. The initiative aims to connect young athletes with Wright State's student-athletes, build community connections, and inspire the next generation of Raiders.
The program provides an opportunity for youth sports teams, families, and coaches to experience the excitement of college athletics while representing the schools and clubs that help shape their athletic journeys.
How the Rising Raiders Program Works
Participation is simple. Children in grades K–12 must wear identifying apparel from their school or club team, such as a uniform, jersey, or other team gear, and present it at the box office or entrance on game day.
No coupon, registration, presale, or advance reservation is required. Tickets are issued on game day on a first-come, first-served basis and are subject to availability. Adults must have a valid ticket when required.
The program applies to eligible regular-season Wright State Athletics home events across the department, with one major exception: men's basketball remains a paid, ticketed event for children in grades K–12.
Conference tournaments, NCAA championships, and other postseason events are not included and will follow their respective ticket policies.
Catch the Raiders in Action This Weekend
Families and youth sports teams can take advantage of the Rising Raiders Program this weekend by supporting Wright State soccer at Alumni Field.
- Men's Soccer: Friday, Oct. 16, at 7 p.m.
- Women's Soccer: Saturday, Oct. 17, at 3 p.m.
Young athletes are encouraged to wear their school or club team gear, bring their teammates, and experience Wright State Athletics firsthand.
Building the Next Generation of Raiders
Rising Raiders reflects Wright State Athletics' commitment to engaging the surrounding community and creating meaningful connections between the university and the young athletes who may one day compete at the collegiate level.
By making eligible regular-season home events more accessible, Wright State Athletics hopes to introduce more families to the excitement of Division I competition, strengthen relationships with local schools and youth sports organizations, and foster a lasting connection with the Raider Family.
For families across Dayton and the surrounding communities, Rising Raiders offers a simple way to experience college sports, support the Green and Gold, and see what's possible through hard work, teamwork, and competition.
