
Luisa Pelayo named HL Women’s Singles Player of the Week

Wright State women's tennis junior Luisa Pelayo has been named the Horizon League Women's Singles Player of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Pelayo began the 2020 season with two victories at No. 2 singles to help lead the Raiders in their first matches of the new year. She began the season by defeating Marshall's Daniela Dankanych, 6-7(5), 6-0, 10-7 on Saturday before concluding the weekend with a win over Butler's Lauryn Padgett in straight sets, 6-1,6-0 on Sunday night.
Pelayo and Wright State now get set for their final home match to open the season, a Saturday night contest against Austin Peay scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at the South Regency Tennis and Fitness Center. Following the match, the Raiders will be on the road for their next eight matched before returning home on March 14.
