DAYTON –The Wright State Athletics Department has made the difficult decision to play men's and women's basketball non-conference home contests without spectators, due to the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Â
This announcement, which takes into consideration the rising case numbers in the area, aligns with Wright State's commitment to the health, safety and wellness of its student-athletes, coaches and staff, along with the University community and Dayton region at large.
Fans can follow the action for all season long in multiple ways. Every Raider men's basketball game, home and away, can be heard by tuning in to WRZX 106.5 FM, while every home game and all Horizon League contests will be available to watch on the ESPN platforms (ESPN3 or ESPN+). Chris Collins and Jim Brown will again bring Raider fans the men's basketball play-by-play on the radio and on the home ESPN feeds. Wright State women's basketball can be followed online via the ESPN platforms (ESPN3 or ESPN+) as well, with every home game and all Horizon League contests will be available to cheer on the Raiders.
Â
Earlier this month, the Horizon League Board of Directors announced League-wide safety protocols, which included that all Horizon League conference games in the month of December will be played without fans. Team pass lists and complimentary tickets will also be prohibited in December. The Horizon League Board of Directors will reevaluate these changes at a later date.
