
Wright State set for Scotsman Invitational

The Wright State softball team continues its season-opening road swing, playing four game games over three days against two separate opponents at the Scotsman Invitational in Clinton, South Carolina hosted by Presbyterian College.
The Raiders begin the weekend against Wagner College on Friday at 10 a.m. before a matchup with tournament host Presbyterian College later that afternoon at 2:30 p.m. Saturday's action is a single matchup against Wagner at 10 a.m. and Sunday's contest against Presbyterian is set for 2:30 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Wright State picked up its first three victories of the season at the Huddle House Classic in Martin, Tennessee, finishing the weekend 3-1. The Raiders only loss was to tournament host UT Martin on day one, 3-0.
The Raiders tallied a total of 31 runs over the two day span, recording 14 runs in back to back contests and outscoring Purdue Fort Wayne 17-4 over two contests.
Brianna Hutchinson led the Raiders with a .700 batting average over the weekend. The senior had a pair of multi-hit games, including a 4-for-4 showing at the plate with two runs and three RBIs courtesy of a pair of doubles against Purdue Fort Wayne. She later went 1-for-3 against UT Martin, recording three runs and an RBI as the Raiders defeated the Skyhawks 14-11 in eight innings.
In the circle, three different Raiders made appearances led by Carly Turner appearing in 15 innings over the weekend followed by Olivia Otani seeing action in eight innings. Lauren Dietrick tallied three innings in the circle for Wright State as well.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Wagner College
Wagner, led by third-year head coach Lindsey Ubrun, returns second team All-NEC selection Amelia Van Orman. The senior finished the 2019 season with 33 hits, 24 runs scored, and 17 RBIs on the year as well as a .273 overall batting average. Out of the four-team field, the Seahawks are the only team to have not seen any game action on the season.
Presbyterian College
Presbyterian brings back 12 players from last year's 11-40-2 squad. Among the returners is Kiley Kross, who paced the Blue Hose with 25 RBIs last season and was selected to the Big South All-Freshman Team. Also back among regular starters are Courtney White, Macy Hyatt and Madison DeGennaro. The Blue Hose also bring nine newcomers into the fold, with five freshmen and four JUCO transfers added to the mix.
