
Raiders tally 13 personal bests at Mastodon Invitational

After 11 months away from competition, the Wright State Track & Field team began its 2021 indoor season Saturday at the Mastodon Invitational, opening the campaign with seven Top-10 finishes and 13 personal bests.
Freshman Melissa Siler set a personal best in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.65 seconds, while junior Tatiana Brown also set a personal best in the same event with a time of 9.12 seconds. Siler also set a personal best in the long jump with her distance of 4.32 meters. In the 60 meter hurdles, Bekah Robertson's time of 10.18 seconds was good for a ninth-place finish for the Raiders, while Emily Maclean ran a personal best of 12.08 seconds.
Wright State saw three finishers in the one mile, led by freshman Emma Shigley's personal best time of 5:32.46. Emma Johnson and Kaitlyn Miller finished just seconds off each other, with times of 5:54.86 and 5:56.14, respectively. Five different Raiders placed in the 800-meter run led by Alycea Ruhlen, with a time of 2:32.13. Freshman Callista Hess set a personal best in the high jump, clearing a height of 1.42 meters, an event that also saw three other Raiders tally the same height.
