Matters welcomes transfer Wolf to Wright State Volleyball

Wright State volleyball coach Allie Matters has announced the addition of Samantha Wolf to join the Raider program. Wolf joins the Raiders after playing her freshman year at Palm Beach Atlantic.

A 5'10 outside hitter from Cincinnati, Wolf will begin her Raider career as a sophomore after leading the Sailfish attack with 365 kills as a freshman, averaging 3.44 kills per set and hitting .283 on the season. She recorded double digit kills in 23 of her 29 matches played on the way to being named the Sunshine State Conference Newcomer of the Year and Freshman of the Year while also earning a spot on the All-SSC second team. Wolf also earned a spot on the AVCA All-South Region team and was an AVCA Honorable Mention All-American.

While at Mount Notre Dame High School, Wolf was a first team Ohio Division I All-State selection as a senior and helped lead her team to a No. 2 ranking in the state. She also helped lead her club to multiple appearances in the Open Division at the USA Volleyball Junior National Championship while finishing as one of the top-10 teams nationally.

The Raiders won the Horizon League regular season championship in 2019 and finished the season with the No. 45 RPI in the country, its highest in program history. Head coach Allie Matters was named the Horizon League's Coach of the Year, while Jenna Story was named the Horizon League Defensive Player of the Year. Wright State's seven league honorees overall were the most in program history.
