INDIANAPOLIS/DAYTON — The Horizon League released its 2022 Men's Soccer All-Academic Team on Tuesday afternoon, recognizing student-athletes for their success both in competition and in the classroom. Wright State sophomore Brock Pickett was among the student-athletes honored in balloting by the League's faculty athletics representatives.
Pickett has appeared and started all 14 games this year entering Wednesday's regular season finale, recording 1,202 total minutes as a midfielder for the Raiders this fall. He has appeared in 29 career matches for Wright State, earning 21 starts, with a goal and an assist, both coming this season, on seven total shots. His lone career goal came September 24 against Northern Kentucky, the only tally in a 1-0 victory.
Â
In addition, Pickett's work in the classroom has earned him a spot on the Wright State University Dean's List in every semester to date at Wright State, earning Highest Honors in Fall 2021 and High Honors in Spring 2022.
The Horizon League recognizes student-athletes with seasonal Academic All-League Teams in each of its 19 championship sports. To be eligible for Horizon League All-Academic consideration, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.20 or higher (based on a 4.00 scale), have completed at least one year at the member institution, having earned 24 semester-hour or 36 quarter-hour credits, and participate in 50 percent of the team's overall contests. An Honorable Mention team is awarded to student-athletes who received at least 25 percent of votes, but did not make the All-Academic team.
