
Women’s Basketball releases Horizon League schedule

INDIANAPOLIS — The Horizon League portion of the women's basketball schedule has been released, as the conference announced the 20-game double round-robin slate today.
Wright State's conference schedule gets underway at the Nutter Center on December 2 versus Robert Morris. Two days later, on December 4, the Raiders will host Youngstown State. WSU will resume HL action at Northern Kentucky on December 28, followed by a New Year's road matchup at defending Horizon League champion IUPUI (January 1).
The Raiders will return home to face a pair of Wisconsin schools in Green Bay on January 5 and Milwaukee on January 7 before traveling north for matchups at Detroit Mercy (January 13) and Oakland (January 15). Wright State will continue to travel back-and-forth with home meetings against Cleveland State (January 20), Purdue Fort Wayne (January 22), NKU (February 2), and IUPUI (February 4), in addition to away showdowns at YSU (January 26) and Robert Morris (January 28).
WSU will embark on a four-game road trip in mid-February. Wright State will start by facing Milwaukee on February 10 and continue at Green Bay (February 12), Cleveland State (February 16), and Purdue Fort Wayne (February 18).
The Raiders will conclude their regular-season conference slate with home games against Oakland on February 23 and Detroit Mercy on February 25.
The beginning of the Horizon League Basketball Championship will once again start on campus with early-round matchups set for February 28 and March 2. The semifinals and Horizon League championship game are set for March 6 and 7.

Robert Morris (Dec. 2, Nutter Center | Jan. 28, Moon Township, PA) RMU finished 14-15 last season with an even 11-11 mark in Horizon League play. The Raiders dropped a 63-54 battle to the Colonials in the lone matchup between the two programs a season ago. During the 2020-21 campaign, Channing Chappell tied a single-game school record against RMU by going 6-of-6 from 3-point range on her way to a career-high 22 points. Wright State trails in the young series, 3-6 all-time.

Northern Kentucky (Dec. 28, Highland Heights, KY | Feb. 2, Nutter Center)
NKU is coming off a 21-8 record last year, with a 14-6 record against HL opponents. The Raiders are 14-2 in their previous 16 games against the Norse. The all-time series is narrowly in favor of WSU, 15-14.
IUPUI (Jan. 1, Indianapolis, IN | Feb. 4, Nutter Center) A season ago, the Jaguars rattled off three consecutive wins in the Horizon League Championship to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. As the No. 13 seed, IUPUI went on to fall to Oklahoma 78-72 in the first round of the Big Dance. Jordan Stanley netted her first-collegiate 3-pointer in last season's loss to the Jaguars. IUPUI will enter the 2022-23 season under the direction of first-year head coach Kate Bruce. Wright State holds a substantial advantage in the all-time series, leading 13-6.
Green Bay (Jan. 5, Nutter Center | Feb. 12, Green Bay, WI) Green Bay finished 19-8 overall and 14-4 in the Horizon League last season. The Phoenix defeated Milwaukee in the HL Championship quarterfinals before falling to Cleveland State in the next round. Head coach Kari Hoffman, a Wisconsin native, began her coaching career as the director of basketball operations at Green Bay in the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons. The Phoenix qualified for the NCAA Tournament both years.
