Trio of Raiders named to Tru by Hilton Dayton Beavercreek Invitational All-Tourney team

 DAYTON – A trio of Wright State volleyball players have been named to the Tru by Hilton Dayton Beavercreek Invitational all-tournament team after helping the Raiders to a perfect 3-0 weekend as they began the home schedule inside McLin Gymnasium.

Taylor Bransfield, Callie Martin and Jenna Story were each named to the team, with Story earning tournament MVP honors.

In 14 sets this weekend, Story paced the Raider backline, finishing with 71 total digs for a 5.07 digs per set average, while adding 12 assists and five service aces. Bransfield tallied 34 kills for a 2.43 kills per set average offensively as she stuffed 17 blocks at the net and added eight digs and four service aces. Martin collected double-digit digs in all three matches as she finished with 58 total for a 4.14 digs per set average while adding 24 kills, 10 blocks and a pair of service aces.

Wright State collected a pair of victories against crosstown foe Dayton in the tournament, opening action with a five-set win on Thursday before a four-set win on Saturday night. The Raiders also dispatched Wichita State on Saturday morning in five sets. Horizon League play is next on the agenda for the Raiders, who open conference action with a pair of road contests against Cleveland State and Oakland this upcoming Friday and Saturday.
