Raiders travel to Bowling Green for Falcon Invitational

DAYTON — The Wright State cross country program will travel to Bowling Green for the Falcon Invitational on Friday, October 13, at the Mel Brodt XC Course.
The men's 8,000-meter race will kick off the meet at 4:30 p.m., followed by the women's 6,000-meter race at 5:15 p.m. Awards will be presented to the top-15 finishers of both races at 6 p.m. Fans can follow live results on finishtiming.com.
Wright State will compete against 13 schools, including meet host Bowling Green, Akron, Cleveland State, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Robert Morris, and Xavier.
The Raiders last raced at the Live in Lou XC Classic hosted by Louisville on September 30. The Raider men placed 25th out of 32 teams in the men's 8,000-meter run with an average time of 26:14.2. The women's team took 34th overall in the women's 5,000-meter run with an average finishing mark of 20:05.5.
Alex McCarty headlined the Raiders in the 8K at the Live in Lou XC Classic, as he placed third out of 427 runners with a time of 24:38.0. Noah Sharp cracked the top 50 in 48th (25:35.4), while Ethan Neblock (150th, 26:32.7), Tayton Hess (199th, 26:48.8), and Patrick Statzer (287th, 27:36.3) rounded out WSU's top-five finishers.
Kaitlyn Miller was Wright State's top finisher in the 5K, as she raced to 29th overall with a time of 18:35.6. She was followed by Alicia Neumeier (91st, 19:24.3), Emma Johnson (212th, 20:25.3), Anna Johnson (264th, 20:53.6), Kayla Compton (287th, 21:09.0), Alycea Lemmon (300th, 21:15.4), Brooklyn Salyers (319th, 21:31.7), Sydney Thompson (341st, 21:58.7), Reece Barnitz (343rd, 22:01.7), and Cecelia Alexander (365th, 22:49.7) in the race.
Wright State will host its next two meets at Fairborn Community Park, starting with Wild Bill Invite on October 20 and the Horizon League Championship on October 28.
