
Three Raiders earn All-League honors at #HLXC Championship

Kaitlyn Miller and Alex McCarty received All-League First Team accolades, while Alicia Neumeier was named to the All-League Second Team
DAYTON — Wright State hosted the 2023 Horizon League Cross Country Championship on Saturday at Fairborn Community Park. The women's team took seventh out of 10 programs, while the Raider men finished ninth overall.Â
Kaitlyn Miller earned All-League First Team honors on the women's side, as she captured sixth place with a time of 21:24.6 in the 6,000-meter competition. Alicia Neumeier finished 13th overall (21:42.1) en route to All-League Second Team accolades. Emma Johnson just missed conference honors with her 20th-place finish (22:11.0).
Reece Barnitz (81st, 24:19.8) and Alycea Lemmon (84th, 24:22.7) rounded out Wright State's top five competitors in the race. Anna Johnson (89th, 24:32.5), Sydney Thompson (94th, 24:41.8), Kayla Compton (97th, 24:52.4), Cecilia Alexander (106th, 25:30.7), Elle Lambert (108th, 25:40.3), Brooklyn Salyers (115th, 26:55.0), and Mia Wyngarden (116th, 27:15.8) also represented the Raider women.
Alex McCarty received All-League First Team honors for the men's team, as he earned seventh in 24:34.9 in the 8,000-meter run. Noah Sharp was close behind in 17th place with a finishing mark of 24:51.9. The two were joined by Bryce Page (72nd, 26:35.3), Patrick Statzer (77th, 26:46.4), Tayton Hess (80th, 26:51.6), Alan Fullenkamp (85th, 27:08.2), Ethan Neblock (95th, 28:22.6), Michael Cole (96th, 28:25.8), Nathan Childs (99th, 28:37.6), John Steimle (102nd, 28:44.1), David Steimle (104th, 29:01.6), and Nathan Picklesimer (105th, 29:09.9).Â
Wright State will return to competition on Friday, November 10, at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional in Madison, Wisc. The top two teams from each regional will automatically advance to the 2023 NCAA Cross Country Championships.
