INDIANAPOLIS/DAYTON — Wright State's
Alexis Hutchison has been named the Horizon League Player of the Week, the League office announced on Monday.
Hutchison helped propel Wright State to an 81-67 victory over Eastern Illinois Saturday afternoon, keeping the Raiders undefeated at home at 5-0 heading into the new week. This is the first time Wright State has started 5-0 since the 2015-16 campaign.
Hutchison tallied a season-best 32 points in the Saturday win, just one point shy of her career high, finishing the afternoon 12-of-17 overall from the floor as she connected on six of her eight three-point attempts. She added a pair of free throws, three steals, two rebounds and two assists in 36 minutes of action. Her scoring output was just the fifth 30-plus point game in the Horizon League this season.
Hutchison and Wright State now get set to host their annual Education Day contest, welcoming Bowling Green to the Nutter Center for a 11 a.m. tipoff. Fans can keep up with Tuesday morning's game by watching on ESPN+ or following live stats.
