DAYTON – Wright State's Callie Martin has been named an Honorable Mention All-American by VolleyballMag.com, the second honorable mention honor she's received this postseason after she was recognized by the AVCA earlier in December.
Â
The Horizon League Player of the Year, one of two Raiders in program history to earn that honor, Martin was a two-time First Team HL performer and earned a spot on a pair of Horizon League All-Tournament teams, also recording a HL Second Team nod earlier in her career. Martin's final résumé includes four Horizon League regular season championships, three HL tournament titles and four NCAA tournament appearances.
Â
A native of Louisville, Kentucky, Martin played and started all 32 of Wright State's contests over 117 sets this season, appearing in 127 matches and 442 total sets in her career. Her 429.5 points and a 3.67 points per set average led the Raider roster, while her 351 total kills and 3.00 kills/set average were both the second-most on the Raider roster. Martin finished the season ranked Top 10 in the Horizon League in all four of those categories.
Â
Martin recorded a 60 percent Good Pass percentage on the year, tallying 335 digs this fall, second-most on the roster, for a 2.86 digs/set average, finishing with a .976 reception percentage with just 12 total receiving errors in 499 attempts. She added 33 assists and 30 service aces to her final stat line, while tallying 18 double-digit kill performances this season and recording double-digit digs in 21 of 32 matches. Martin collected 13 double-doubles, including a stretch of four straight from Sept. 29 through Oct. 7 and back-to-back double-doubles to close her career, against Green Bay in the Horizon League Championship and against Louisville in the NCAA Championship.
