Raiders tally win as part of Friday action

NASHVILLE, TN - The Wright State bowling team began action at the Columbia 300 Music City Classic on Friday with a 1-4 record, with the Raiders grabbing a win over Kentucky Wesleyan as they sit in 18th after the first day of competition.

Wright State averaged a 180.1 and had a 4,503 total pinfall over the five baker matches on Friday.

The Raiders dropped a pair of tight matches to UAB (849-834) and St. Francis (Pa.) (954-935) to begin the day before capturing the 910-827 victory over Kentucky Wesleyan. Wright State later fell to Maryville (974-860) and Louisiana Tech (1,038-964), both of which are ranked in the top 15 in the latest NTCA poll (Maryville 8th, La. Tech 12th).

Action will continue Saturday with five traditional team games beginning at 10:30 a.m. ET, as the Raiders are set to face Carthage College, Sam Houston State, Lewis and Maryland-Eastern Shore. Sam Houston State is ranked ninth in the latest polls while Maryland-Eastern Shore is 10th in the rankings.
