Raiders finalize 2023-24 non-conference schedule

DAYTON — The Wright State women's basketball program released its 2023-24 non-conference schedule on Wednesday, a slate featuring five home contests, two Power Five programs, and a multi-team exempt event (MTE).
Wright State preps for its 2023-24 campaign with a home exhibition against Tiffin (November 6) before tipping off the regular season on November 6 at Southern Indiana. WSU continues its season with a road matchup against Big Ten Conference opponent Michigan State on November 12. The Raiders and Spartans have only met twice, most recently during the 2018-19 season.
WSU hosts Mount Vernon Nazarene on November 14 for its home opener, followed by a meeting at Indiana State on November 18. The Raiders then have four consecutive non-conference games on its home floor, welcoming Slippery Rock (November 20), Marshall (November 27), Eastern Illinois (December 9), and Bowling Green (December 12) to the Nutter Center.
Wright State travels to Morgantown for a meeting against West Virginia on December 18. WSU trails 2-4 in the all-time series versus WVU, highlighted by wins in 1997 and 2000.
The Raiders conclude their non-conference schedule with two games at the Holiday Hoops Classic in Las Vegas, Nevada. Wright State opens the multi-team exempt event against Presbyterian on December 21 before facing Wyoming on December 22.

The Spartans faced Horizon League programs Purdue Fort Wayne, Oakland, and Detroit Mercy in the non-conference portion of their schedule, defeating each team by 30-plus points. Wright State and Michigan State have only met twice, most recently during the 2018-19 season.

Slippery Rock (Nov. 20, Nutter Center)
Slippery Rock, a Division II program out of the PSAC Conference, went 15-13 overall and 10-12 in conference action during the 2022-23 campaign. Wright State took down SRU 75-68 in the lone meeting between the two teams in 1985.
Marshall (Nov. 27, Nutter Center)
Wright State and Marshall are set to meet for the second consecutive season. The Herd finished 17-14 overall and 9-9 in Conference USA action last year, which included a 72-47 win over the Raiders. WSU is 3-7 all-time against the Herd.

EIU is coming off a successful 21-8 record last year. The Panthers went 14-4 against OVC opponents during the regular season but lost to Tennessee Tech in the first round of the conference tournament. Wright State holds a 6-5 advantage in the all-time series, which includes an 81-46 win over EIU during the 2017-18 season.
