McCarty and Miller earn top-10 finishes at All-Ohio Challenge

CEDARVILLE, Ohio — The Wright State cross country teams turned in a strong showing on Friday evening at the All-Ohio Intercollegiate Challenge.

Alex McCarty once again led the pack for the men's team, as he finished fifth overall with a time of 24:49.80. Noah Sharp cracked the top 50 in 37th (25:50.93), while Bryce Page (86th, 26:29.30), Ethan Neblock (104th, 26:41.61), and Patrick Statzer (153rd, 27:08.70) rounded out WSU's top-five finishers.Â
Nathan Picklesimer (194th, 27:46.93), Alan Fullenkamp (208th, 27:56.66), Michael Cole (261st, 28:42.25), John Steimle (302nd, 29:15.12), David Steimle (328th, 29:43.13), and Nathan Childs (377th, 30:56.04) also represented the Raider men.Â
Kaitlyn Miller was the Raiders' top finisher for the second meet in a row, as she placed sixth out of 300-plus runners in the women's 6,000-meter race with a time of 22:07.26. Alicia Neumeier was close behind in 19th at 22:47.71, followed by Emma Johnson in 62nd (23:42.52), Reece Barnitz in 123rd (24:37.14), and Anna Johnson in 129th (24:43.15).Â
Kayla Compton (173rd, 25:30.14), Cecilia Alexander (208th, 26:08.20), Brooklyn Salyers (211th, 26:10.32), Alycea Ruhlen (215th, 26:13.55), Sydney Thompson (221st, 26:20.82), Elle Lambert (242nd, 26:43.85), Mia Wyngarden (270th, 27:30.38), Carly Biederman (308th, 29:46.87) also competed on the women's side.Â
The Raiders will return to action on Saturday, September 30, at the Live in Lou Cross Country Classic in Louisville, Kentucky.

The women's program placed eighth out of 30 teams, while the Raider men took ninth overall in a packed field of in-state competitors.
