Raiders set for Live in Lou XC Classic

DAYTON — The Wright State cross country program will continue its season at the 22nd annual Live in Lou Cross Country Classic on Saturday, September 30, at the E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Ky.

The men's 8,000-meter race will kick off the meet at 9:30 a.m., followed by the women's 5,000-meter race at 11:30 a.m. Awards will be presented to the top two men's and women's teams. Special awards will be given to the Top 25 finishers in each race. Live results will be posted on flashresults.com.Â
Wright State will race against over 140 schools nationwide on Saturday, including Horizon League programs Detroit Mercy and Northern Kentucky.
The Raiders are coming off a strong showing at the All-Ohio Championships, as the WSU men finished eighth out of 30 teams in the 8K while the Raider women took ninth out of 31 teams in the 5K.Â
Alex McCarty once again led the pack for the men's team, as he finished fifth overall with a time of 24:49.80. Noah Sharp cracked the top 50 in 37th (25:50.93), while Bryce Page (86th, 26:29.30), Ethan Neblock (104th, 26:41.61), and Patrick Statzer (153rd, 27:08.70) rounded out WSU's top-five finishers.Â
Kaitlyn Miller was the Raiders' top finisher for the second meet in a row, as she placed sixth out of 300-plus runners in the women's 6,000-meter race with a time of 22:07.26. Alicia Neumeier was close behind in 19th at 22:47.71, followed by Emma Johnson in 62nd (23:42.52), Reece Barnitz in 123rd (24:37.14), and Anna Johnson in 129th (24:43.15).Â
After the Live in Lou XC Classic, the Raiders will turn their attention to the Falcon Invitational at Bowling Green on Friday, October 13.Â
